Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of Hiroshima city on this half-day exploration, where you and your guide will unravel crucial themes of peace, history, resilience, and the unique local culture and traditions. This tour, encompassing the city’s heritage, its homemade products, and its striking natural beauty, can be accomplished in 4 hours, depending on our pace, interest level, and breaks. If you’re more inclined towards a relaxed pace, with pauses to rejuvenate, dine and savor beverages, the guide is willing to accompany the group for up to 6 hours.
The charge for this tour includes guiding and translation services throughout, as well as the guide’s expenses for transportation, entry fees, and meals or drinks. As for guests, please arrange for your own travel, entry fees, and transport expenses. A suggested a sum of 1,000 yen per person (in cash) to accommodate basic tour costs such as donations, entries, and travel is suggested. An additional sum of 2,000 yen per person would be recommended to account for any meals.
Itinerary
- Meet Rail or Bus Station, Cruise Ship Port, Hotel, Monument/Building
- Visit 2 of the sacred mountains shrines and temples (1 hour)
- Visit the stunning Zen gardens Shukkei-en (1 hour) + enjoy Japanese sweets and tea (+ 30 minutes)
- Walk through the Hiroshima castle & Shrine grounds (1 hour)
- Walk to Hiroshima peace park via the central shopping areas to give an overview of the city (30 minutes) + enjoy a coffee or light meal (+ 1 hour) / option: take a taxi, tram or sightseeing bus
- Walk through Hiroshima’s heart “Peace Park”: A-bomb dome + meaningful monuments along the peace line (1 hour) – the tour ends at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum where I recommend going through on your own using an audio guide- it is a powerful and personal experience.
