MIMARU Tokyo Ikebukuro is an apartment-style hotel in Tokyo’s Toshima ward with 107 non-smoking rooms. Each room comes with a full kitchen including an IH stove, refrigerator, microwave, and cooking utensils. With dining tables and enough space for four to six guests per room, it works well for families and groups who’d rather not eat out every meal.
Room types include one-bedroom apartments in several configurations: a standard four-single-bed layout, a Japanese-style room with two single beds and futon space, and a loft bed version with two loft beds and futons. For larger groups, the Two-Bedroom Family Suite sleeps up to six adults with four single beds and a bunk bed, while the High Floor and City View Two-Bedroom Suites have four single beds. There’s a Pokémon-themed room as well. Connecting rooms are available, combining two one-bedroom apartments for up to eight guests. An accessible apartment is available, detailed in the accessibility section below.
All rooms are set up for self-catering, with tableware, cutlery, pots, and pans included. Ikebukuro itself has plenty of dining options – ramen shops, department store food courts, and convenience stores are all within easy walking distance.
Facilities include free Wi-Fi, a coin laundry room on the second floor with seven washers and seven dryers (detergent is automatic, multilingual signage available, and staff can help), 24-hour security, and a multilingual interpreter app. Each room has a safety box, air purifier, hair dryer, TV, and washlet toilet. The washstand and bath are separate.
The nearest station is JR Ikebukuro (West Exit 17), about a five-minute walk. Ikebukuro is on the JR Yamanote Line, making most of central Tokyo accessible without transfers. Haneda Airport is roughly 45 minutes by train, and Narita Airport takes about 55 minutes by train.
