Accessibility Features
MIMARU Tokyo Kinshicho is wheelchair accessible, with step-free access throughout the building’s main areas. The hotel entrance uses automatic sliding doors with a width of 158 cm, and a slope is provided at the entryway. The lobby has seating with a sofa (seat height: 43 cm) and a low table. The front desk counter sits at 111 cm, and written communication is available for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Two elevators serve the building, one of which has a wheelchair-accessible control panel. The elevator car measures 156 by 161 cm with a door opening of 90 cm, and the elevator lobby is at least 150 by 150 cm – enough space for a wheelchair to turn. A multifunctional restroom is located on the first floor, equipped with handrails, an ostomy-compatible washbasin, a diaper changing table, a baby chair, and a hand dryer.
One priority parking space is available on the first floor; guests should notify the front desk upon arrival. The coin laundry on the first floor has multilingual signage and staff can assist, though the laundry room entrance has a 22 cm step.
The hotel offers a 39m² Accessible Apartment with four single beds. The room entrance has a swinging door with a width of 85 cm and a small step of 1.5 cm at the threshold. Inside, beds measure 200 by 100 cm with a mattress height of 35 cm from the floor. Bedside clearance ranges from 10 to 80 cm, and there is clearance of at least 10 cm under the bed for a portable hoist.
The bathroom and shower are separated from the toilet. The bathroom entrance is step-free and wide enough for wheelchair entry. Inside, the bathing area has a bathtub (height: 43 cm, depth: 50 cm) and a separate shower space with a height-adjustable hand shower (low position: 115 cm, high: 175 cm). Grab bars are installed in the shower and bathing area, and a shower chair is available on request. The toilet has a fold-down grab bar on one side and a fixed vertical grab bar on the opposite wall, along with an emergency pull cord. The washbasin has knee clearance underneath, allowing wheelchair users to pull up directly.
Freestanding handrails, shower chairs, and bath grips are available as free rentals, subject to availability. Staff are trained in assisting guests with guide dogs and can escort guests with visual impairments to their room when possible. Common areas are kept fragrance-free.
The hotel provides a universal design access map with step-by-step directions from Kinshicho Station, noting accessible routes, elevators, and key landmarks along the way. MIMARU has also published an accessible travel guide.
