Located just south of the Imperial Palace grounds, The Imperial Hotel Tokyo was established in the late 1880s to cater to the increasing number of Western visitors to Japan.

One Deluxe Twin Room is wheelchair accessible. Furniture is arranged to allow maximum mobility, switches have been placed at wheelchair height, and one of the two beds is a motorized medical bed.
The toilet has handles and a sturdy backrest and the hotel is one of the few hotels in Tokyo to offer a roll-in shower.
