Naniwa Issui hotel is located near the heart of Matsue City, overlooking a beautiful view of Lake Shinji. It offers modern accommodation with a restaurant, a shop, indoor & outdoor public hot springs baths (and some rooms with private hot springs baths), massage/spa services, and all rooms with free WiFi access available. It is a 10-minute stroll to Matsue-Shinjiko-Onsen Station or a 10-minute drive from JR Matsue Station.
Guestrooms offer both air-conditioning and heating facilities. Each room is equipped with a fridge, green tea and a flat-screen TV.
Guests can arrange for a relaxing massage or therapeutic treatment at Spa Sizuku. Some services that other spas normally don’t typically accommodate may be available to those with disabilities here, it’s best to discuss your needs with the staff beforehand.
The hotel’s Restaurant serves a variety of local sourced seasonal Japanese dishes made from fresh ingredients (as well as premium Wagyu options), served in a cozy, relaxed setting. It is open for breakfast and dinner hours. The shop within the hotel provides various carefully selected local souvenirs, giving you options to commemorate your visit.
Accessibility
The entrance to the hotel is flat with a gentle slope leading into the lobby. Wheelchairs can be borrowed upon request. The front desk and gift store have lowered desks for those in wheelchairs.
Naniwa Issui has multiple accessible rooms, the fifth floor was renovated in 2021 with accessible Universal Design in mind, most of the rooms on the floor are very spacious, with accessible balconies, accessible toilet, and even options for a special lift to assist in getting into the included private hot springs bath (these vary by room, so please be sure to check the room’s details before booking).
The hotel rooms are large and easy to move around in with both wooden flooring and tatami mats. The toilet has grab bars, but unfortunately no backrest. The private bath has a large area to shower and has a shower chair. A shower chair is available as well as a lift for some private hot springs’ baths. The sink has a cutout for easy wheelchair access.
The public bath has a lift but be sure to confirm availability with staff in advance.
The restaurant is accessible, and even one of the special private rooms has a small lift into it. A smaller accessible toilet is available on the restaurant floor as well.
An accessible family/unisex toilet is available on the first floor next to the public baths, equipped with multiple useful fixtures including: grab bars, bidet, ostomate, and accessible sink.
