Kobe Portopia Hotel is fully barrier-free in its main facilities. Entrances, lobbies, elevators, guestroom floors, restaurants, and banquet halls can all be accessed without steps, making it easy for wheelchair users and guests with mobility aids to move around the hotel.
The hotel has an Universal Deluxe Room, which are twin-bed rooms designed for accessibility. Entrances and bathrooms have no steps or only a very small threshold (5 cm or less). Bathrooms are unit-bath style, with the bathtub and shower in the same space. Handrails are placed near the toilet and shower, and the sink is open underneath so it can be used from a wheelchair. Bath boards and bath chairs are available on request. Toilets include a side grab bar for added support.
For guests who are hard of hearing, staff can communicate using writing boards, memos, or text on tablets and smartphones.
Guests with visual impairments can ask staff for guidance to rooms, restaurants, or other facilities.
For those with sensory sensitivities, strong fragrances are not used in shared spaces. A light scent is present in elevator halls, but it is kept mild.
