I will be heading to Osaka later this year and am considering visiting Universal Studios Japan.

I heard that many rides are not open to wheelchair users… does that include the Harry Potter ride?

    Hi @azaleeboy

Unfortunately, after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, many places across Japan re-evaluated their safety protocols and now rides at most theme parks (including USJ) are restricted to those who can evacuate by themselves. ie you must be able to walk out unaided in case of an emergency.

So, unfortunately, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter rides (Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey & Flight of the Hippogriff) are not wheelchair accessible.

There are still many things to do at USJ that are accessible though.  So, while it is still worth going for the shows etc, be aware of the ride situation.
